About Us

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out – plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

  Jeremiah 29:11

Born out of discussion, reflection and prayer, Lazaretto responds to the needs of those in aged care and hospital ministry – residents and patients; families, carers and loved ones; pastoral ministers, support workers, chaplains and practitioners.

Lazaretto’s primary purpose is to support those in residential aged care and people who are experiencing sickness or ill-health in hospital. This includes spiritual formation and professional learning opportunities in ministry and theology to support workers and practitioners in the field. Also key to the ministry at Lazaretto is the ongoing care and support for families and carers who are journeying alongside their loved ones.

The team at Lazaretto are practical and pastoral ministers who draw on their own experiences through life and service in aged care and hospital settings to provide you with the resources and formation you need.

Lazaretto is a rich combination of readily available resources for individual and facilitated group prayer, rituals and reflection, as well as engaging in-person formation opportunities for chaplains, support workers, and healthcare practitioners.

“Let us imitate the attitude of Jesus: he takes care of everyone; he shares their suffering and opens their hearts to hope”.

-Pope Francis
