An Advent Prayer
Light of Heaven,
fill our minds and our hearts this Advent
as we watch, wait and prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ.
You have shown us signs of hope and love
through those who care for us.
May each week renew our hope
and strengthen our desire
to walk in your Divine Presence.
We thank you for always being there,
bringing rays of warmth and comfort.
Advent is a time of waiting,
a time of preparing, a time of reflecting.
Help us to look back on this year with love and gratitude,
energized to look forward and ready to celebrate this wonderful event:
the birth of Christ in our world. Amen.

Let Go and Let Flow (Glimpse of Heaven)

O sing to the Lord a new song, for God has done marvelous things . . .
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises.

Let Go and Let Flow (Peace)

Let Go and Let Flow Patients
Peace
I PREPARE MY HEART
Pause for a moment . . .
Take a deep breath, and become aware of the loving gaze of Jesus,
as he looks at you with tenderness and compassion.
I LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD John 14: 27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
I RESPOND
What is God asking of me today? What do I need to let go of?
Do I sense any difficult feelings welling up in my heart about any of this?
If I could gently let those feelings go, in this moment of quiet,
what would I receive in return?
I PRAY
Jesus, you promise us a peace the world cannot give.
It is a gift, unearned and undeserved.
I ask for this peace, that you may calm the storm within
and heal the fear that overwhelms me.
May I feel safe and secure,
knowing your loving hand holds mine every step of the way.
Amen.

Let Go and Let Flow (Bearing Gifts)

Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain, but if it dies it bears much fruit.

Let Go and Let Flow (A Love that Longs for Fulfillment)

A Love that Longs for Fulfillment
I PREPARE MY HEART
Pause for a moment . . .
Take a deep breath in, and exhale slowly.
Spend a moment listening to the sounds around you
and become aware of God’s gentle presence.
Place your hands in your lap, palms facing up, ready for prayer.
I LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD Matthew 27: 46, 50
And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?’
that is, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’
. . . Jesus, again crying out in a loud voice, yielded up his spirit.
I RESPOND
What is God asking of me today? What do I need to let go of?
Do I sense any difficult feelings welling up in my heart about any of this?
If I could gently let those feelings go, in this moment of quiet,
what would I receive in return?
I PRAY
Jesus, in the utter despair and loneliness of the cross,
you revealed a vulnerable God who loves with complete self-giving.
I long to experience this love now
and see its ultimate fulfilment in the kingdom to come.
May I abandon myself to you as I quietly wait for your coming with hope and trust.
Amen.
